oh life.

What do I do when I procrastinate?? Blog.

I just had one of the BEST experiences in my life.
NO LIE!
What did I do you might ask??
I only tried out for BYU Cougarettes :)
am I one (might be your next question)?
No I am not.
And thank goodness for that!

The truth of the matter is, I wasn't going to tryout.
But one day I had a strong feeling that I should, and something that I have learned this past year..
ACT ON YOUR FEELINGS.
So I told Kevin (AKA my dad) That I was trying out.
Got permission from the principal.
Bought a plane ticket.
And on thursday.. I was off.

I had the wonderful opportunity of staying with my family:)
I love them so MUCH! I cant wait to live next to them next year.
I love Curls and Adam.
I got to spend time with their cute kids!
I also spent time with my Uncle Garin and Aunt Amy! They have the cutest family.
Seriously I look forward to living next to them next year.
The next wonderful couple I spent time with is Monica and David Harker :)
I love Monica! and David of course :)
I stayed at their house the night before tryouts! They are the cutest, I hope one day I can have such a relationship. They love each other so much :)

BYU Cougarette Auditions.. Shall I explain the process???
So I am proud to say that I was the first one there! Do I advice it??
NO.. It means that you  have to do everything first. lol
I always go first at dance but this was a tad different. The reason being is that I had no idea what to expect.
To begin the process of trying out you do a range of motion test.
I was super afraid about this.. BUT all I had to do was touch my toes.. hahaha I should have
brought my toes to my head. :)
Then you have to be able to do a quad. Im happy to say I succeeded.
Then you wait.. and wait ... and wait.
The interesting thing about waiting is that all the freshmen find each other.
The other interesting thing is.. ALL of the freshmen besides me and two girls from California, and one from Utah, were from.... TEXAS. haha
Seriously it was crazy.
ALL the girls where wonderful. It made me so excited to go to BYU.
When we finally were called to go to the front, we knew all 70 girls. lol
Im about to say something.. don't judge me.. BUT I feel like I met a celebrity. Mrs. Jodi is her name, and I must add that before this moment I had facebooked stalked her page. hahaha

The beginning is what amazed me, we started off with a prayer and a scripture. It amazed me. I seriously LOVE BYU. We then stretched and did combinations across the floor... AND then we waited... and waited.. and waited... The funny thing is, even though I know I was as good as a lot of those girls... I knew I wasn't going to make it. Its a funny thing, but I wanted to leave. I decided that freshmen year I wanted to make a A average, and have fun. I might tryout next year, but I was content on that moment on leaving. Who knows maybe Ill tryout for something else. So all the freshmen sat together and waited and then they came back. And the only called 25 girls. And guess what?? All the freshmen except the Utah girl went home :) hahahaha that made me laugh.

Then after, I got to go hang out with Elaine Newton :)
I love that girl so much. Those of you who do not know her are missing out greatly.
She is so beautiful inside and out. She has the strongest testimony and the sweetest spirit.
She is one of my greatest examples, and she always makes me smile.
Whenever I need advice I go to her. She is one of my best friends and always will be.
I can not wait to live next to her next year!

So after I got out of tryouts I called Elaine, she happily came and got me :)
I learned some interesting things as we walked to her dorm. First off, a shortcut through the business building so that you don't have to walk those evil stairs. Second off :) something like Rachel's Lunch spot?? I cant remember the full name. BUT that was awesome! hahaha

Elaine Newton also has awesome friends :) They remind me so much of her!
I had the honor of going to lunch with them at Sammys.. It was amazing. I got a black bean burger,
fries (with the best fry sauce), and a pumpkin pie milk shake.. I ate everything.
I then got to see Marcus Todd Jarrell, and Nate. I didn't get to see him for that long, but I still got too:)

The next day I went home.. And was stuck in the airport.. Forever. haha

But I had such an amazing experience. I am so glad that I got to go and be with my family and had the privilege to tryout. I am so blessed in so many ways. I am so thankful for the courage that the Lord gives me.

This is going to be a long post. lol This week was sorta hard. I had to deal with a lot of things that I thought I was done dealing with. But my sister wrote me and told me  "I realized something yesterday...I'm the happiest I have ever been. And you know why that is? because I am constantly inviting the spirit in my life. It makes even the bad days wonderful. So my suggestion to you is to look at the things you are doing, and ask what can I do to better invite the spirit into my life? I promise as you begin to study your scriptures more, pray more diligently, watch better movies, read better books, that you will have the spirit with you, thus you will be happier :) That is what life is all about, being happy. Did you know that was a commandment that was given to us by our Heavenly Father? We are here to be happy. I know that change can be hard. I have never handled it very well, but just realize that change always has to happen so we might as well do it with a smile."

She has such a spirit about her that I love.

Well you guys! I guess I will say bye until next time!
